WP2
Building foundations and drawing the route: a conceptual and methodological framework
The overall goal of WP2 is to create a common ground for partnership and build the tools and strategies to be applied.
This requires clarifying the point from which the project starts in the different countries participating and defining the direction for its development.
Therefore, specific objectives are:
- first, to build a common ground by systematising available knowledge (e.g., EU and national reports, white papers, guidelines, scientific literature, etc.) and partners expertise on critical thinking, social and meta-cognitive skills and digital competences development in early childhood through discursive practices, argumentation, and community of enquiry model (especially when addressed to raise awareness about climate change);
- second, to develop – starting from this knowledge base – a set of guidelines and a sample of tools/practices to be tested by ECEC practitioners, enabling them to implement in a reflective way – in their everyday practice – participatory and collaborative approaches that promote the critical use of Digital Technologies to address the issue of environmental sustainability and climate change.
The conceptual and methodological guidelines aims at:
- ensuring the implementation is carried out within a clear and shared theoretical framework;
- giving practitioners clear methodological indications and a sample of tools/practices to be tested. It will enable teachers to be autonomous during the implementation stage of the project and will ensure a clear educational intentionality (“I know why I do it” and “I know what I want to achieve”), hence effectiveness.
To facilitate dissemination, exploitation, and the report and the guidelines accessibility to a broad audience in the ECEC sector, documents will be published in 4 languages (EN, PT, IT, PL).
